Where did the wives of Cain and Able come from?

Genesis 1-2 Adam and Eve are the first two humans. Genesis 3:20 Eve is called "the mother of all the living". Genesis 5:4 states that after Seth was born, Adam "had other sons and daughters." The bible never mentions that Abel had a wife nor does it list any of his descendants, since he was murdered while still young.
According to Genesis 4:17 Cain left for the land of Nod, he "knew" his wife and she bore Enoch. Therefore, it seems that Cain married one of those unnamed sisters (or possibly a niece). Close-kin marriages were not prohibited until many centuries later under Mosaic Law. Leviticus 18.
