Pantheon was the only Roman temple that was converted to a Christian Church.
When Christianity became the official religion of the Roman Empire in the year XXX, there were thousands of Roman temples scattered throughout the land. Roman temples were tall but not large enough for a crowd to assemble for services. Therefore, most Roman temples were useless to the early Christians. They were simply to small to be converted into a Christian Church, except one: The Pantheon. The Pantheon was built to house all of the gods of Rome, even the unknown god of everything. This was the only temple large enough to be used for Christian worshippers and so it was converted into a church.
